The module accepts inputs from proximity probes and magnetic pickups. However, magnetic pickups are not suitable for reverse rotation or zero-speed detection.

Can this module be used as a primary overspeed protection system?
No. The module is not designed for standalone overspeed protection or speed control systems, as it lacks protective redundancy and fast response capability.

What is the maximum number of events per revolution supported?
The module supports up to 255 events per revolution. Some channel types start from 0.0039 events per revolution.

Is a separate Keyphasor module required when using this Tachometer Module?
No. The 3500/50M can condition and distribute Keyphasor signals to the rack backplane, eliminating the need for a separate Keyphasor module.

What are the available output signals for monitoring purposes?
The module provides 4–20 mA analog outputs and buffered transducer outputs. These are suitable for data logging, chart recording, or display—not protection.

Can alarms be configured with delay settings?
Yes. Alarm 1 can be delayed from 1 to 60 seconds (1 sec steps), while Alarm 2 allows finer control from 1 to 60 seconds in 0.1-second steps.

What is the minimum detectable shaft speed for proximity probe inputs?
With proximity probes, the minimum input frequency is 0.0167 Hz, equivalent to 1 rpm for 1 event per revolution.
